In response to Betsy Kline's story, "Anti-vaccine mandate nurses group using Castlegar mayor’s statements to promote cause" dated February 23, 2023
In response to Betsy Kline's story, "Anti-vaccine mandate nurses group using Castlegar mayor’s statements to promote cause" dated February 23, 2023. It should be noted that this submission was, in fact, unverified and bordering malicious. "Stories" that our local community members are getting tired of being subjected to.
FACTS:
1) February 5, 2023 - Sent to every Mayor and Councillor in the Province of BC, including all the Castlegar Councillors (we have the evidence)
"We are BC nurses working towards holding our union, the BC Nurses Union, accountable for not only refusing to represent us, but also for its contribution in the intentional collapse of our healthcare system.
Why?Since November, 2021, thousands of nurses have been terminated in BC and remain unable to work in this province due to the NDP's continued resolve to block educated and experienced healthcare workers from our healthcare system. The BC Nurses Union role is to represent its members and to protect workers' rights. The following link has an in depth story of all the evidence we have uncovered in the last year, as well as, the continued lack of protection we are receiving from many levels of provincial government.
We are forwarding this information to you so that you have some knowledge of the provincial and union abuse that we have been subjected to.If you would like to contact us, our email is:stopmannow@gmail.com. .bcnursesfightmandates.caThank you for your time and for actively holding our NDP government accountable. We are grateful. The BC Terminated Nurses"
2) It is obvious that Ms. McFaddin's response is a personal response.
3) This response was not the only one received from rural mayors. The East Kootenay region has filed resolutions with the UBCM to return terminated healthcare workers. This will be going forward provincially in March. Northern communities have been very vocal about the difficulties they are facing. Rural areas are the recipients of bad provincial decision making, and if local governments do not speak out, it is these communities that will lose services. For example, Nakusp experienced a death at the ER doors. Local staff will verify it is very much related to staffing shortages.
4) Ms. Kline labelled us anti-vaccine. Retract this. We are anti-mandate and will continue to protect the public's right to informed choice and personal decision making in medical decisions. There is no evidence to support this statement, and is clearly her opinion....an uneducated one.
5) "During the council meeting, Heaton-Sherstibitoff also claimed that BCNFM would be including McFaddin’s statements as part of a package they are presenting to the provincial government."
We have no idea who Heaton-Sherstibitoff is. This person has no access to our legal retainer, we have no presentation pending with the provincial government, and our complaints to the BC Labor Board were submitted last September. Ms. McFaddin's statements will not be used, in any capacity, in any statements to any provincial department.
6) Between Nelson,Trail, Castlegar, Grand Forks and Creston, Interior Health fired over 40 nurses alone. Grand Forks had to close its medical unit, and Nelson and Trail, both experience over capacity with admitted patients taking up ER beds due to lack of space. But somehow, this never made it into Ms. Kline's story.
7) The BC Nurses Union has failed in its function to protect nurses. The terminations were not in the Public Health Orders, this was a decision by the employers. We have Freedom of Information requests that clearly show over 20,000 Covid sick calls occurred in double vaccinated healthcare staff in the 6 months after terminations. Political agendas have overtaken union protection, and if we lose the function of the union, there is no protection for the worker. Political agendas have taken away the public's access to healthcare.
Our Youtube links provide all the evidence that we have acquired. We, at least, do our homework. If Ms. Kline would like to actually use facts to create her "stories", we'd be more than willing to assist.
